Developers who aspire to jumpstart a new fintech idea or network with other innovators are encouraged to apply to Zopathon – a weekend hackathon hosted by peer-to-peer lender, Zopa – on 18 and 19 November in London, England. The hackathon runs for a full 24 hours with developers, product specialists and designers forming teams to build their idea.
On the first day, the event kicks off with networking at 5pm with an introduction to APIs provided and then a pitching session at 7pm where everyone can sign up for their favorite idea. The coding session ends at 5pm the following day with pitching to judges, presentations and prizes awarded to hackathon winners. Zopa is the first and largest peer-to-peer (P2P) lender in the United Kingdom, and this is their second hackathon. Since Zopa was founded in 2005, the company has helped people lend more than £1.80 billion in P2P loans.
The objective of Zopathon is to support developers in creating innovative solutions around financial wellness and lending for small businesses and consumers. Through this two-day hackathon, Zopa aims to drive financial innovation by providing access to financial data APIs from Zopa and technology partners like Envestnet® | Yodlee®, Amazon, and Stripe, etc.
We’re excited to partner with Zopa to provide developers with free access to the Envestnet | Yodlee Aggregation API during the hackathon. Participants can leverage the Envestnet | Yodlee Aggregation API to enable user-permissioned and secure access to consumer financial accounts, including checking, savings, investments, loans, and rewards accounts from over 16,000 data sources. More information can be found at: https://developer.yodlee.com In addition to the cool prizes offered at Zopathon, we will offer Beats by Dre headphones for the best use of Envestnet | Yodlee Aggregation API.
